Infant SEE is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care become an integral part of infant wellness care. Both doctors at Firelands Eyecare Center are Infant SEE volunteers. Infants under one year of age receive a comprehensive vision assessment at no charge. During the assessment, parents will hold the baby on their laps as visual acuity, refractive status (i.e. nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatism), eye movements, and overall eye health are evaluated. It has been found that the best age to test the infant is between nine and twelve months of age.
